ABOUT

SCHOOL YEAR 2024-2025
OUR HISTORY
The Pan American International School was founded in 1993 as a private, co-educational, non-sectarian day school. It is registered under the laws of the Paraguayan government as a non-profit foundation.
The school offers instruction to students from Kinder 3 through Grade 12. Its curriculum, delivered in English, is based on an international model, with specific Spanish-language courses available for students who wish to meet the requirements of the Paraguayan Ministry of Education and Culture for entrance into Paraguayan universities. Students are provided with opportunities to learn about the democratic process and develop a set of values that will enable them to make responsible choices.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
The Pan American International School believes in and emphasizes a strong foundation for academic achievement, the encouragement of critical thinking skills, and the development of responsibility and self-direction. We believe that Pan American International School has a unique opportunity to foster the growth of future global citizens.
Therefore, we strive to provide a well-rounded educational experience that creates a balance between the sciences and the humanities, within the context of each student’s national identity and, in turn, their international citizenship.
We believe that in order to develop informed, thoughtful citizens who can fully participate in both their national communities and global affairs, we must:
- Establish an environment that promotes the highest possible standards of education.
- Promote the skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for the lifelong development of the whole person.
- Prepare students to adapt to and navigate the complexities and challenges of an increasingly interdependent and changing world.
- Foster awareness of the rights, duties, and responsibilities of citizenship, as well as respect for other cultures and nationalities.

OUR VISION
If children live with criticism, they learn to condemn.
If children live with hostility, they learn to fight.
If children live with fear, they learn to be apprehensive.
If children live with pity, they learn to feel sorry for themselves.
If children live with ridicule, they learn to feel shy.
If children live with jealousy, they learn to feel envy.
If children live with shame, they learn to feel guilty.
If children live with encouragement, they learn confidence.
If children live with tolerance, they learn patience.
If children live with praise, they learn appreciation.
If children live with acceptance, they learn to love.
If children live with approval, they learn to like themselves.
If children live with recognition, they learn the value of having a goal.
If children live with sharing, they learn generosity.
If children live with honesty, they learn truthfulness.
If children live with fairness, they learn justice.
If children live with kindness and consideration, they learn respect.
If children live with security, they learn to have faith in themselves and in those around them.
If children live with friendliness, they learn that the world is a good place in which to live.

OUR MISSION
PAIS aims to provide an excellent educational opportunity based on a U.S. curriculum, primarily for a Paraguayan and international community, regardless of race, nationality, or creed. PAIS offers a program of studies designed to prepare students for success in a university system. Recognizing the transient nature of some students, the curriculum is designed to enable students to transfer between PAIS and other U.S. international and Paraguayan schools, as long as equivalency requirements align with U.S. curriculum standards. PAIS strives to provide a program that not only maintains but also benefits from the international diversity of its community.
PAIS is committed to the development of the whole individual and is dedicated to fostering students’ intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth, preparing them to become responsible citizens and productive members of society. PAIS believes that a child learns what they live.
We are proud to have students from 27 different countries.
